お正月の準備は進んでいますか？

ずぼんぼさんの今月のお着物は新潟の雪山紬、帯は芹沢銈介先生の”いろは”の型染め。

この着物も母が若い頃に着ていたもので50年くらい箪笥で眠っていました。

私が箪笥から出してくると「これとっても着やすいのよ〜」と母が嬉しそうに言いました。

紬ですが柔らかくてコシがある質感で確かに着やすい！

この雪山紬、もう随分前に廃絶してしまったようで、全く資料が無いのです。

その名の通り雪深い南魚沼市六日町地方の織物ということだけ。

コシヒカリで有名な新潟県南魚沼市は大きく３つのエリアに分けられます。

パワースポットや古刹名刹の多い大和エリア

ビッグなスキー場が集中する塩沢・石打・舞子エリア

山々の麓に温泉が湧き出る六日町・八海山エリア

越後地方では越後上布と塩沢紬が高級織物として今も生産されています。

もしかしたら、雪山紬も塩沢系の紬だったのかもしれませんね。

50年も前に仕立てられた着物なので、青色の着物に赤茶色の八掛が付けられています。

青色同系色や黒や白の帯を持ってくればスマートに見えるでしょう、でも今回は敢えて野暮ったくなりがちな赤茶色の帯を選びました。

芹澤先生の”いろは”は様々な色調で型染めされて、屏風や着尺、帯、暖簾など素晴らしい作品が沢山あります。

大量生産のプリントの手拭いや風呂敷などにも用いられているので、なんとなく見たことがあるという方も多いと思います。

芹澤先生の”いろは”に対する思い入れは大変強かったそうです。

先生は1984年4月5日に虎ノ門病院で亡くなりましたが、その50日ほど前の2月10日に、不自由になった右手に代えて左手で描いたのが「いろは」の３文字だったとのことです。

この格調高い”いろは”の帯をしまっておいてはもったいない、どんどん着倒そうと思います。

Zubonbo's kimono this month is Yukiyama Tsumugi from Niigata, and the obi is stencil-dyed in the "Iroha" designed by Keisuke Serizawa.

This kimono was also worn by my mother when she was young, and it had been sitting in a chest of drawers for about 50 years.

When I took it out of the chest of drawers, my mother said happily, ``This is so comfortable to wear.''

Although it is Tsumugi, it has a soft and firm texture and is certainly comfortable to wear!

Yukiyama Tsumugi seems to have been extinct a long time ago, and there is no information at all. This fabric is produced in the snowy Muikamachi area of Minamiuonuma City.

Minamiuonuma City in Niigata Prefecture, famous for Koshihikari, can be divided into three main areas.

1.Yamato area with many power spots and famous ancient temples

2.Shiozawa, Ishiuchi, and Maiko areas where major ski resorts are concentrated

3.Muikamachi/Hakkaisan area where hot springs gush out at the foot of the mountains

In the Echigo region, Echigo Jofu and Shiozawa Tsumugi are still produced as high-quality textiles.Perhaps Yukiyama Tsumugi was also a Shiozawa-type pongee.

Since the kimono was made 50 years ago, it has a blue kimono with reddish-brown hakkake.

It would look smart if I brought an obi in a similar color to blue or black or white, but this time I chose a reddish-brown obi, which tends to look unfashionable.

Mr. Serizawa's "Iroha" is stencil-dyed in various colors, and there are many wonderful works such as folding screens, kimono, obi, and noren.

Many people have probably seen it, as it is also used for mass-produced printed hand towels and furoshiki.

It seems that Mr. Serizawa had a very strong attachment to "Iroha".

He passed away at Toranomon Hospital on April 5, 1984, but about 50 days before that, on February 10, he drew the ``Iroha'' with his left hand instead of his crippled right hand. 

It would be a waste to keep this prestigious "Iroha" obi in the chest, so I plan on wearing it more and more.
