夏休みのミッションと芭蕉布

 今年の備後屋の夏休み1週間は、どこにも遠出をせず都内で過ごしました。

この夏休みのミッションは、

「いらなくなった古い家具や衣類を処分して、部屋をスッキリさせること」

いやあ、物を処分するって本当に大変！

まずは二段ベッド。ひとりでは解体できないので、便利屋さんに依頼、そして解体した後は粗大ごみで出そうかと‥

でも、待てよ〜　ダメ元でジモティーに出してみました。「二段ベッド差し上げます」おおお、５分で引き取り先決まりました！次の日には解体もタダでしてくれて、２階から１階に下ろして車で持って行ってくれた。便利屋さんの費用も粗大ごみの費用も浮いてしまった！恐るべしジモティー！

チェスト付きロフトベッドも、衣類30枚まとめたものも、あっという間に引き取り先が決まり、ジモティーパワーで片付きました。捨てるには忍びない物は、とりあえずジモティーに出してみる、これ大事。この夏学びました。捨ててしまったら燃やされるだけだけど、誰かに引き取ってもらったら物たちも第二の居場所を与えてもらって、差し上げた方に感謝もしてもらえて、なんか良い気分です。

そして、この夏休みの２つ目のミッションは、「祖母の芭蕉布の帯を復活させること」

2023年8月号の雑誌「民藝」のテーマは

「平良敏子と喜如嘉の芭蕉布」です。

昨年母が「おばあちゃんの芭蕉布の帯出てきたよ〜」

と言って祖母が着けていた平良敏子さんの帯を私にくれました。

この機会にこの芭蕉布の帯を復活させねば備後屋の看板おばさんとしての名が廃る。

なんとしても復活させてSNSで自慢してやる！と鼻息荒く決心したのでした。

祖母は毎日着物を着て備後屋３階の囲炉裏端にいましたので、簡単に着られるように作り帯にして、幅も狭く作り変えてありました。

このままでは着けられないので、糸を解き、折り目に霧吹きで水を吹き、当て布をしてアイロンをかけて幅を広げました。

初めての帯改造、初めての芭蕉布。

やったー！これで着られる。仕上がったのは夜中の２時でした（汗）

そして夏休み最後の日、この帯を結び、備後屋オリジナル藍染浴衣を着て、猛暑の中お茶のお稽古に行って参りました。

これで２つ目のミッション成功。

その勢いで、以前からInstagramを見ていて、ず〜っと行ってみたかった

”小鹿田焼ソノモノ”さん夜の部にお邪魔して来ました。

馴染み深い小鹿田焼ややちむんの器さん達に盛られたセンスが良くてとびきり美味しいその子さんのお料理とお酒、初めて訪れたのに自然にお話に入れてくれる常連のお客様達との会話、パワフルで可愛いその子さんのセンスと魅力が溢れたお店。

こりゃあ通いたくなるわ。

遠出はしなかったけど、最後の日になって充実した夏休みでした〜

During this year's summer vacation I spent in Tokyo without going anywhere.

This summer's mission is

"Clean up my room by disposing of old furniture and clothes that I no longer need."

Well, it's really hard to dispose of things!

Bunk beds first. I can't dismantle it by myself, so I asked a handyman to dismantle it, and after dismantling it, I decided to dispose of it as oversized garbage.

But wait~ I put an ad on Jimoty  "Free bunk bed." The next day, they dismantled it for free, and took it down from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor and took it by car. The cost of the handyman and the cost of oversized garbage have also floated! Awesome Jimoty!

A loft bed with a chest and a collection of 30 clothes were quickly decided on where to pick them up, and Jimoty Power was able to clean them up. If you can't bear to throw anything away, give it to Jimoty for the time being, this is important. I learned this summer. If you throw it away, it will just be burned, but if someone takes it, it will give them a second place to live, and the person who gave them will thank you, which makes me feel good.

And the second mission of this summer vacation is to "restore my grandmother's bashofu obi".

The theme of the August 2023 issue of the magazine "Mingei" is

"Toshiko Taira and Bashofu of Kijoka".

Last year, my mother said, "Grandma's bashofu obi came out~"

She gave me Toshiko Taira's obi that my grandmother wore.

If I don't revive this bashofu obi on this occasion, my name as a signboard lady of Bingoya will be lost.

I'll revive it no matter what and brag about it on SNS!

My grandmother wore a kimono every day by the Irori on the 3rd floor of Bingoya, so she made it into two parts and made it narrower so that she could wear it easily.

I couldn't wear it as it was, so I untied the threads, sprayed water on the crease, covered it with a pressing cloth, and ironed it to widen the width.

My first obi remodeling, my first bashofu.

Yay! I can wear it now. It was 2 o'clock in the middle of the night (sweat)

And on the last day of summer vacation, I tied this obi, wore Bingoya's original indigo dyed yukata, and went to tea ceremony lesson in the scorching heat.

Second mission was succeeded.

 I've been looking at Instagram for a long time and wanted to go there.

I visited "Ontayaki Sonomono" at the same night.

The tasteful and exceptionally delicious food and sake served with my favorite Ontayaki and Yachimun pottery, and the powerful conversations with regular customers even though it was my first visit, naturally joined in the conversation. The shop filled with the sense and charm of her cute charactor.

I can't help to going there again. 

I stayed in Tokyo whole week, but the last day was a fulfilling summer vacation.

About Bashofu, it will be long, so I will continue in the next blog.
